Since I got in trouble earlier this month for responding to a forwarded email, I decided to do this in my own space.

Almost every day I receive a handful of emails from someone in my address book. It is someone I know that I have known for several years. The emails that I receive are varied. Sometimes they contain jokes, sometimes they contain inspiring stories, sometimes they contain interesting pictures. But these emails are consistently forwards that the sender feels the need to pass on.

I enjoy jokes, inspiring stories, and interesting pictures. However, what it obvious is that the person who consistently sends these to me is doing so with no thought about recipients. She does not edit or even consider to whom she is sending these things. So I will get several emails containing penis jokes, followed by several telling me to pass God's love to my friends. Then I will receive a slideshow of the most beautiful churches in the world, followed by a warning about eating chicken wings. (By the way, I used Snopes to look up that story about chicken wings, and the story is a hoax.)

I have forwarded emails in the past. I admit that I have made mistakes when it comes to forwarded emails. But I have learned from my mistakes. I forward emails to people who will enjoy or gain some benefit from what I am sending them. I use my mind and my discernment rather than just filling up my contacts' mailboxes with a bunch of junk.

I may end up having to report my "friend" as a professional spammer if she can't figure out how to self-edit. *sigh*

For some reason this article about the demise of Kodachrome struck me. I don't know why it caught my attention, but it did. I love my digital camera, but, oh, I wish I had the patience and talent to use film on a regular basis. Oh well, technology progresses on . . .

Well, I've been spending my days scanning pictures, making phone calls, and scanning more pictures. That is, when I'm not working. It seems as if the photo albums will never end.

Oh yeah, I didn't explain why. My parents' 50th anniversary is next month, and we are planning a dinner party for them. It is not going to be a huge party that everyone they know is invited to. Instead, we opted for a smaller dinner with close and old friends. The invitations have been sent, and half of the people have responded. Most of those who have responded are coming. Including us, we have 49 people so far. That's a really good size, and we won't have more than 70 if all of the others say yes.

So right now I'm scanning old photo albums, trying to find pictures that we can use for the decorations. I have about six more albums to go through here, but I still have some upstairs to look at. I think I will have enough pictures to do what I want, but we'll see.

Also, I need to buy a dress. I found kind-of a cute one online, but I haven't gotten around to ordering yet. I'll go to the mall eventually and look around, but right now I need to get this picture thing done.

So that's my life . . . work, scan, call, lather, rinse, repeat.

I haven't blogged about it much lately, but one of my favorite things is the "This I Believe" series from NPR. This essay came at such an appropriate time for me and was so touching that I had to share it. The essay was written by someone who became famous for something that none of us would ever want to be famous for. I'm amazed that someone can live what she did and still be able to forgive. Or maybe the forgiveness part is how she lives.

Pedigree has a cool project right now called the Million Dog Mosaic. You can upload your dog's picture, and it will become a part of a greater whole. Tim Tam and Milo are both in the mosaic. Tim Tam's code is tim1 and Milo's is milo25. It's pretty cool

Tim Tam was adopted on March 17, 2007. He died on December 27, 2007. He was my best friend. I miss him very much.
