RIP Madeleine L'Engle

It seems like my blog has taken a turn for the morbid lately, but I couldn't let the death of one of my favorite authors pass by without some recognition. Madeleine L'Engle's books were inspiring and beautiful. She did more than just tell stories. She brought characters to life. She was able to blend the spiritual with the earthly and show that such is a normal event. My favorite character was Meg Murry. She was smart, not considered a beauty (at first!), and thoughtful. Yet she found that she could love herself and others and could be loved as well. I am so grateful to Ms. L'Engle for creating such a wonderful character.

Often overlooked but what I found most inspiring was Madeleine L'Engle's poetry. If you can, find some in your public library and have a good read. You won't regret it.

So, while I do apologize for the rather sad tone of my posts lately, I hope that you will understand.

Rest in Peace, Madeleine L'Engle. I look forward to seeing you on the resurrection day.

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for the hugs. I had a bad day today, missing him. But I did sign up for eHarmony already. There's this really nice guy who wrote me a really long email. I love long emails! And I met this other guy David when I posted a free ticket for the Padres game a week and a half ago. I just know God has a plan. ;)

I feel really sad about Madeleine L'Engle's death. A Wrinkle In Time is one of my favorite books of all time.

Hey Kathy,
I didn't know where else to post this, so I thought th is was the best place.
I haven't seen you lately online, so I wanted to drop by and say hi.
Today Carl & I got to have just a day here hanging out at my place...was kinda nice.
Then there was a speaker at church tonight and Carl and my mom both came. It was cool seeing my mom there tonight.
Then afterward Carl decides "Lets go to Perkins" at 10pm. *sigh* So we did, and argued about the dumbest things... and then ya know how guys are really good at saying things without thinking....
ie: verbal diahrea... yeah, he was full of that tonight. Upset me.
Then I get online to check e-mail tonight cuz I'm not ready to sleep. (It's 1am now)...
and a friend of mine says all sorts of horrible things and decides I'm really not the great friend she thought I was and she even called me a drama queen (which made me laugh, cuz I'm SOOOO NOT), that made her mad I laughed. Oh well. So the thing at church was great, but now I'm bummed.
Besides all that, how are you doing??? Miss talking to you.
If I can get Carl's laptop going again he said I can have it. How great. Then I can watch movies and "not clean" the house from the living room instead!! :) HA!
